The departure for Berlin swiftly approaches. Everyone is busy... Eric, Annie, Garry and I continue to work on Four Actors and Apocalypse. For the most part, they are coming together nicely, though certain things remain elusive. One more week before we present them at Menz Bar (2182 Gottingen Street) in preview February 11, 12 & 13th. We've set it up so people can see either one, or both, any night. Reservations through reservations@dapopo.org
The Academy are investigating four lives at the Water's Edge. Four characters are emerging and their connections, lack of connections, conflicts and discoveries are developing.
We've learned the Canada kiosk at the FEZ-Berlin will be bare. The embassy is not sending any materials or speakers to participate this year. It's unfortunate and sad. We will do our best to represent, regardless. Empty kiosk... empty stage. We can do a lot with the latter.
All eight of us will travel to the Ross Creek Centre for the Arts this weekend for a work retreat. Chris O'Neill and Ken Schwartz invited us to use one of their rehearsal spaces and bunk up at the farm house. Thank you so much! This offer was an unexpected and completely pleasant surprise and will be incredibly beneficial us. We're looking forward to concentrating on our shows and also the trial run of living together. Thank you to the donors and sponsors who have gotten us to a point where we could even consider going - we've had to rent a van to get us all there.
